Stop talking and start listening.

My old boss, James Micklethwait, once told me,

You don’t need to be the most knowledgeable person in the room, to make your voice heard. Stop talking, start listening.

I still wrestle with it today in my coaching practice, but it is always consciously on my mind, and James helped provide that early awareness for me.
